We teach in Braidwood, Tarago and Canberra
and as some of us are now living in “self-isolation” and learning at home, Sturkella Music is also teaching lessons online via Zoom, Skype, and Whatsapp. Anyone can sign up for classes. Just contact us for information on how to set up your phone, tablet, computer. The fun is, we can all wear funny hats. It’s a great time for learning music. A great time for song writing. A great time for hats!
Head to our sign up page to book a trial, or our contact page to ask a question you have regarding music tuition with us.
NSW students can apply for a Creative Kids voucher. It is worth $100 and Sturkella is a provider. Go to www.service.nsw.gov.au/campaign/creative-kids for more information.
Kelly Sturgiss Director
Kelly is a long term Braidwood resident with 15 years experience teaching creative approaches to music. She is in demand in Braidwood and Canberra as a dynamic and inspiring teacher for people of all ages across many genres.
Kelly has developed an effective method of teaching that includes different ways to approach learning, blending techniques to best suit the individual needs of the student. She encourages students to feel the music and exercise their knowledge and natural expression through improvisation, composition and repertoire. As an accomplished singer and multi-instrumentalist, her broad knowledge allows her to teach and mentor students to read, understand and play music from a beginner through to an advanced level.
Her deep understanding of fine art augments her skill, talent and extensive experience as a musician and music teacher. This cross-arts experience gives Kelly a unique perspective on creativity. She believes that personal creative expression goes towards making a happier and healthier person and building a stronger sense of community.
